Senator Tom Davis Unveils New Web Site
Beaufort, S.C. – March 26, 2009 – Senator Tom Davis unveiled a new web site today aimed at better serving his constituents and keeping them informed and engaged on issues that matter to them.
Tom’s new web site, SenatorTomDavis.com , features a “Constituent Action Center” with numerous helpful online tools – including DMV drivers’ services, DNR hunting and fishing licenses and voter registration. There’s also a “Community Resources” page that provides links to dozens of other helpful websites.
Additionally, Tom’s site provides access to a host of interactive Web 2.0 features, including Twitter, Facebook and other social networking tools, as well as information about his “Talk to Tom” district meetings.
All of these features are made available in a clean, easy-to-use format.
“This web site is about service first, politics second,” Tom said. “With so many new technologies available, my goal was to put them together in one place where my constituents could take full advantage of them.”
Tom’s web site does include plenty of political information, beginning with his “individual liberty, economic freedom, future prosperity” approach to government, which is proudly emblazoned on every page.
There are also detailed “Issues” pages outlining where he’s coming from on key decisions being made in state government, as well as pages highlighting his legislation, news releases and media coverage.
One of the web site’s most interesting features, though, is the Reform Ledger – Tom’s new blog.
It features articles written by Tom on the most pressing current issues affecting Beaufort County and the state as a whole.
“Obviously I won’t be replacing the Beaufort Gazette, the Island Packet or Bluffton Today anytime soon, but I can report back on a lot of these issues and give a real inside perspective on what’s happening here in the District and up at the State House,” Tom said.
Tom also encouraged everyone to e-mail him at tom@senatortomdavis.com with their feedback and suggestions for the website.
“I value everyone’s feedback,” said Tom. “And plan on continually making upgrades to the site to meet the needs of District 46 constituents.”

Tom, your comment about the government dictating our lightbulbs burns me up for a good reason. Did you know there are special instructions for handling a broken one of those. They contain mercury and it is not to be handled. Now how many ordinary people are going to know that. What happens to our ground and water supply when millions of these broken light bulbs accummilate in our trash dumps with all that mercury year after year?
