Statement from Senator Tom Davis Regarding Event Featuring Rep. Ron Paul

By • on August 5, 2012

Tomorrow night at 6:00PM, Congressman Ron Paul is joining Senator Tom Davis for an event in honor of the senator’s campaign. Attendees include members of the public from around the state of South Carolina. Anyone may attend. A donation to Tom Davis for Senate is appreciated. Please join us at 701 Whaley tomorrow night in Columbia.

Senator Davis offers his comments below about the event:

“My number one goal as an elected official has always been to limit the size and scope of government and to promote the free market economy and individual liberty – in short, to make South Carolina the freest state in the nation, a place where people want to live and raise their children, start new businesses and invest their capital.”

“I endorsed Congressman Ron Paul in the recent GOP presidential primary because he has stood for those same things throughout his three decades in public life, to a degree and with a passion unmatched by any other candidate. And that diligence has certainly paid off, as evidenced by the number of establishment politicians who now routinely incorporate Ron Paul’s governing philosophy into their stump speeches and in how they vote. Last week, for example, every Republican in South Carolina’s congressional delegation voted in favor of his bill to audit and examine the monetary policy of the Federal Reserve, something that would have been unheard of just three years ago.”

“I am honored to have Ron Paul as a special guest at my event in Columbia next Monday. People from every corner of South Carolina who champion liberty and are passionate about limiting government will be in attendance, and it is my hope the event kick-starts momentum for true free-market, individual-liberty reforms in our state government.”
