Senator Tom Davis has spent over four decades living and working in Beaufort County, combining deep community roots with a proven record of public service.

  • Raised in Maryland, eldest of six children

  • Magna cum laude graduate from Furman University

  • Top honors from University of Maryland School of Law

  • Moved to Beaufort County in 1985 and never looked back

A Proud Father, Community Neighbor

Tom has proudly called Beaufort County home since 1985. As a father of three daughters—Elizabeth “Libby” Davis Cohen (31), Grace Catherine Davis (24), and Claire Christian Davis (21)—he understands how deeply public policy affects real families.

Though grown, Tom remains an active and supportive presence in his daughters’ lives, and his dedication to their future inspires his commitment to building a better Lowcountry and a better South Carolina for all families.

Every vote I cast and every bill I write—I do it with the next generation in mind. That includes my daughters and the families I serve.

Decades of Dedication to the Lowcountry

Before the Senate, Tom served on local boards and worked in state leadership roles that shaped South Carolina’s future.​

  • 40+ years at Harvey & Battey, P.A., now Managing Partner of Real Estate

  • Served on boards: Historic Beaufort Foundation, Planning Board, Port Authority, etc.

  • Senior roles in Governor Sanford’s office: co-chief of staff, deputy chief of staff, and chief of staff

Fighting For the Lowcountry Since 2008

Representing District 46 with integrity, transparency, and results-driven leadership.

  • Elected in 2008, re-elected in 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024

  • Serving fifth term for Beaufort and Jasper Counties

  • Known for bipartisan solutions, strategic reform, and protecting South Carolina’s heritage
